How You Can Help
Become an Active Participant in the Society for the Preservation
of Physician Assistant History
You can do this by becoming a member, serving on a committee or
task group, running for an office, attending meetings, and speaking
to various groups about the Society’s and the PAHx Center’s
goals and objectives.
Join
the Society for the Preservation of PA History (SPPAHx).
Members of the Society are individuals who are cognizant of their
obligation to preserve the history of the physician assistant profession
and to educate other health professionals and the general public
about the unique role that physician assistants play in providing
team-oriented, quality and affordable health care services. There
are four categories of membership: (1) fellow, (2) affiliate, (3)
student and (4) honorary. Sixty percent of your membership dues
go directly to support the work of the PA History Center and related
projects.
Become
an Organizational Annual Sponsor of the SPPAHx.
Society is open to PA Educational Programs, PA Student Organizations,
PA State Chapters, PA Caucuses, PA Specialty Groups, and corporate,
philanthropic and governmental sponsors desirous of furthering the
Society’s mission and goals. Annual organizational sponsors
are granted memberships in the Society at reduced fees. The Society’s
Board of Directors determines the number of memberships and the
amount of reduction in membership fees for each category of organizational
membership. Each Organization is asked to name a representative
to the Society to enhance communications. Sixty percent of the organizational
annual sponsorship fee is placed in a trust fund to support the
work of the PA History Center and related projects.
Make
a Donation to the SPPAHx to support the PA History Center.
SPPAHx is a 501 C-3 non-profit organization and your donations are
tax deductible. Donors are classified according to the following
categories: Benefactor ($50,000 or more), Patron
($25,000 to $49,999), Sustainer ($10,000 to $24,000),
Supporter ($5,000 to $9,999), Colleague
($1,000 to $4,999), Associate ($500 to $999), Advocate
($100 to $499), and Friend ($25 to $99). The entire
amount donated is placed in a trust fund to support the PA History
Center and related projects.
Become Involved in Scholarly Activities
Contribute to historical scholarship through research, writing, oral history interviewing, and serving on the Society’s research and education or publication committee. Give us your Suggestions and Feedback
Use the Suggestion Box to suggest people, events, issues and milestones that should be researched and included on the website timeline, biography, exhibit or trivia question sections and to let us know of any publications, films, videos, oral histories, artifact or other related materials that may have missed our attention.
