Research
& Education
To help with the workload and identification process, guidelines
and templates will be provided to those who are willing to help
locate, identify, catalog and index materials residing in their
own organizations, institutions, personal papers, archives or libraries.
In time, the Glossary will be expanded to include additional terms
and organizations associated with the PA profession with links to
more detailed historic, on-line information and illustrations. Refer
to the Thesaurus
for themes, keywords and people mentioned on this website.
We are very interested in publishing articles that stimulate interest
and motivate others to contribute similar materials. There is a
vast amount of material residing in institutional and individual
files that will be lost if corrective action is not taken soon.
Please Contact Us if
you know of material that should be included. Electronic reproductions
are accepted and encouraged.
Once identified, located, properly stored and captured electronically,
the archival materials will be featured in publications, exhibited
at professional meetings, and displayed on the Center’s website.
The online illustrated history website tells the story of the development
and impact that PAs have had on American medicine. The Society’s
Research and Education Committee helps identify areas needing more
documentation and study. The Center relies on a network of contacts
based in various PA organizations and PA educational programs to
gather missing documents and to initiate studies needed to fill
gaps of understanding. The Center encourages, fosters and supports
original research that explores key themes underlying inter-professional
relationships, policy decisions and other activities crucial to
the development and expansion of the PA profession.
Please
visit this page often to be advised and updated about projects
that are being conducted by the Center’s staff and Society
members. |
