The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center PA program is a graduate program located in Midland, TX; an inviting West Texas city, conveniently located on Interstate 20, halfway between Fort Worth and El Paso. Midland is a thriving community of more than 134,000 people. The TTUHSC Physician Assistant Program has over 750 graduates, making significant contributions to the health care of the many thousands of people they serve.
The mission of the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Health Professions Physician Assistant Program is to provide comprehensive medical education to physician assistant students. Through an environment of academic excellence and the promotion of life-long learning and professionalism, graduates will be prepared to practice patient-centered primary care, increasing access to healthcare for communities of West Texas and beyond.
With particular emphasis on developing regional solutions to meet the clinical needs of rural communities of West Texas, the goals of the TTUHSC PA Program are to:
♦ Provide student clinical opportunities in primary care in rural and underserved populations in West Texas
♦ Admit highly qualified individuals with diverse backgrounds and life experiences
♦ Maintain first time pass rate on NCCPA PANCE at or above the national average
The TTUHSC Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program is committed to educating PAs to meet the challenges of providing high quality health care to patients. The TTUHSC PA program awards a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree following 27 months of intensive academic and clinical education. Of the 27 months, the 15-month academic phase is conducted in Midland, TX in a dedicated, first-class facility. The 12 month clinical experience is conducted at a variety of sites throughout the 108 county area of West Texas. The professional curriculum of the TTUHSC PA Program consists of 125 semester equivalent hours of academic and clinical education.
