PA programs that are current PAHx Associates, have access to the Society’s new online Educational Modules for teaching the history of the profession to their students!
The PAHx’s Associate benefits are now based on the calendar year invoicing schedule (Jan-Dec). PA programs that have already paid their annual Educational Resource Fee ($500) will have access to the new, asynchronous curriculum, available through an LMS system that can be easily accessed through computers and through an app on tablets and smartphones. Faculty and students will access the curriculum by creating an account on the LMS.
The PAs as Social Innovators: The History and Legacy of the PA Profession online curriculum consists of 6 educational modules that are tailored to the ARC-PA (6th ed.) “B” Standards and the PA History Society’s textbook: PAs as Social Innovators in Healthcare.
The 6 modules:
- are accessible to students through computers, tablets and smartphones
- cover the major milestones of the PA profession’s history decade by decade
- look at the history of the profession through the lens of the Social Innovation Model
- include interactive knowledge checks to keep students engaged
- create a certificate of completion that is accessible to students after each module to then present to their instructor
- are narratated by Donna Seton, a profession voice actor who is also a palliative care PA!
Faculty teaching the history of the PA profession who are members of a PA program that has paid their Educational Resource Fee will have access to the Curriculum Guide.
The Curriculum Guide features:
- suggested test questions
- additional readings
- topics covered in each module
- ARC-PA B Standards tags for each module
- citations used for each module
Faculty will also have access to a “Manager” section of the LMS where they may view students’ progess throughout the six-module curriculum.
