Kendra Thomsen, MPAS, PA-C

X icon

Kendra Thomsen, MPAS, PA-C, has served in a multitude of roles in various professional PA organizations since she began her career in 2007. Mrs. Thomsen has been a member of the NCCPA Board of Directors since 2017. She served as chair-elect in 2019, Chair of the Board in 2020 and immediate past chair in 2021 and she is still in her first term on the NCCPA Board of Directors.

Ms. Thomsen spent time growing up in Wyoming, Texas, and Nevada. She received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Nevada, Reno. She worked as a medical assistant while in undergrad and then in toxicology research when she graduated.

Despite enjoying research, Ms. Thomsen knew she wanted to get back to patient care. While working in research, she met a PA who convinced her that the flexibility of the career would suit her. She enrolled in the Touro University – Nevada PA program and graduated in 2007 from the inaugural class. Soon after graduation, Ms. Thomsen began work at Baylor Scott & White Healthcare in Texas. She started in Family Medicine but found her true calling working inpatient in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and Critical Care Medicine.

Ms. Thomsen is very active in the PA profession. She is the immediate Past-Chair of the NCCPA Board of Directors and is the Advanced Practice Professional Manager for Medical Specialties at Baylor Scott & White Round Austin/Round Rock. Ms. Thomsen is a member of the AAPA and former House of Delegates Member, the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants, the Alpha Lambda Sigma National Honor Society, the Central Texas Physician Assistant Society, the American Academy of Nephrology Physician Assistants, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery.

Ms. Thomsen lives in Cedar Park, Texas with her husband, 2 children, and 3 dogs. She loves reading, doing art, and making music. She is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Medical Science Program at A.T. Still University with an emphasis in leadership. She plans to continue being an advocate for this profession she dearly loves.
