Located in Toledo, Mercy College of Ohio’s Master of Physician Assistant (PA) Studies Program launched in May 2021 and offers small cohort sizes, excellent student support services, and an active PA student society. As an affiliate of Bon Secours Mercy Health, one of the nation’s largest and most respected healthcare systems, Mercy College of Ohio has direct access to clinical education in various urban, rural, and underserved settings.

The seven-semester PA program produces graduates who can meet the medical care needs of the region, the State of Ohio, and the nation. The innovative curriculum is focused on scholarship, leadership, and service. It includes active learning opportunities and strong interprofessional education with team-based learning, simulation, student wellness initiatives, and longitudinal professional development portfolio. PA students connect with the local community through service initiatives, including volunteering at community clinics and a food bank.

Mercy College of Ohio opened in 1918 as a nursing school in response to the Spanish Flu Pandemic. Today, we continue to specialize in healthcare and health-science related programs, offering 27 healthcare programs and certificates. The first PA cohort will graduate in 2023.
